Kanye West vs 50cent – New CD sales results
In the Hip-Hop sector where the biggest egos stand for everything, these two are at the top of the list. Now with their new CDs being released last Tuesday, it is an interesting, but easily predictable battle between the two.
Like many people, I am a fan of their music and not their persona. The LA Times website posted an excellent article about the current results on this head to head fight for CD sales.
Music Industry Dying
We are personally watching this battle to see new statistics showing the deteriorating sales of CDs in general. The music industry are holding many conference calls and meetings to discuss the fact that they’re continuing to lose ground selling music the traditional way.
Both Kanye and 50’s sales with their current albums are not reaching the paces their previous albums made, giving the industry a “tell tale” sign that even with great publicity, they can’t improve sales. Selling music through traditional “Brick & Mortar” stores is dying as consumers choose to buy songs online instead of albums. Downloading music for free hasn’t lost much ground either. It will be interesting to watch CD sales completely dissolve one day.

Britney Spears – 2007 VMA’s – Gimme More
Websites around the world are posting the same video as I am today. I merely chose to post it in case someone still hasn’t seen it. Obviously Britney didn’t have a good backup plan when MTV couldn’t do her “Gimme More” with the magic act she had planned. Her lack of being prepared with a backup, not practicing or improving the choreography made the live act into another example of her many mistakes as of late.

Facebook vs MySpace Update – 09/10/2007
Facebook is closing ground to MySpace in web traffic. As I have always predicted, Facebook will eventually pass MySpace. Although I predicted it to happen in August 2008, it’s still great to see Facebook gain so much ground. Below is a graph and a ranking chart to show Facebook quickly gaining ground on MySpace.
The chart below shows the Top websites based on internet traffic. Facebook has recently joined the top 10 in the world for traffic. Congrats Facebook.

For a graph showing the two sites on web traffic, just look below. Based on a 3 month trend and a 3 year trend, you can easily see the gap between the two social communities getting smaller, quicker.

The Best Singles Ad I have seen…
I was surfing around and I found this cool Singles Ad…what do you think?
“SINGLE BLACK FEMALE seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant. I’m a very good girl who LOVES to play. I love long walks in the woods, riding in your car (whatever make or model — I’m not fussy), hunting, camping and fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candlelight dinners will have me eating out of your hand. I’ll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Call 503-xxx-xxxx, and ask for Daisy. I’ll be waiting.”
More than 15,000 men found themselves talking to the ASPCA about an 8-week-old Labrador retriever.
